Shinagawa, Tokyo. April 2018: Founded in 1971, Daiichi Kosho is the leading karaoke company in Japan, specialising in the selling/leasing of karaoke streaming machines and running karaoke facilities across the region, as well as producing their own audio mixes for use across their services.
For almost 15 years, the studios have created these widely used mixes on their large format VR analogue console, however 2017 saw the company overhaul their studio facility, upgrading to the Neve 88RS (the first of its kind in Japan) in the main recording studio with features such as DAW control via the console faders and relay bypass master faders, as well as the addition of two Genesys Black G16 consoles in rooms 1 & 2.
Both installation and training were provided by AMS Neve engineers working with engineers from Itochu Cable Systems Corporation.
