GC Pro to distribute Genesys in USA
21 January 2009
New Neve console to be on permanent display in major outlets
AMS Neve is pleased to announce that it has appointed GC Pro as the exclusive US distributor for its innovative Neve Genesys console. The deal will see Genesys consoles on permanent demonstration display in GC Pro's West LA, Miami, Nashville and New York outlets, with a further flightcased Genesys making month-long featured appearances at other GC Pro branches around the country.
As the pro user arm of Guitar Center, the USA's biggest MI retail chain, GC Pro has a formidable customer base which will readily appreciate the benefits Genesys offers to studios and engineers working in fields such as recording, post production and audio-for-games. In particular they will welcome the Genesys's groundbreaking 'no-compromise' solution to the demands of modern recording techniques. Designed by Robin Porter, AMS Neve's Head of Analogue Design, whose 35 years at Neve encompasses work on the classic 8068, 8078 and VR consoles and who was also the principal designer of the 88R, the Neve Genesys sacrifices none of its analogue heritage but also incorporates comprehensive DAW control plus analogue summing at mixdown (click here for full features and specs).
The other big attraction for GC Pro's customers is that the Genesys succeeds in combining technical excellence, flexibility and affordability. Because Genesys is modular (with a basic configuration of 16 mic/line channels plus 16 channels of DAW monitoring), it means the smaller studio can now offer its customers the most prestigious name in recording consoles. Additional modules, up to a maximum of 64 mic/line channels, can be added as the studio's business expands. And making the Genesys even better value, it comes ready loaded with the same preamp circuitry as on the Neve 88RS with an option to upgrade to Neve Classic 1073 mic pre circuitry.
'We're very proud and honoured to be selected as the US distributor, and our division is fully behind this product line,' said GC Pro Director Rick Plushner. 'At an entry level price point of $50,000, for the first time, everyone from a studio owner to an artist/producer, to audio enthusiasts, can actually own a real Neve console.'
'Neve customers expect a high level of customer service before and after the sale,' added AMS Neve managing director, Mark Crabtree. 'We've seen how GC Pro has delivered above and beyond with other Neve products, so we know that our new Genesys customers will be well taken care of.'
